I call to great Styx who wards the river
that bounds the realm of deep-hearted Hades.
Wise eldest daughter of Ocean and Tethys,
eldest of those three thousand fair maids,
yours is the power behind an oath,
yours is the might to break the forsworn,
yours is the comfort of the forsaken.
O solace of those with a righteous wrath,
with hearts overfull of rage and revenge,
with the anger of the just, I call to you.

All praise to wise Themis, great mistress of order,
great friend of the seer and the sibyl
whose words were once heard in Delphi and Dodona,
great lady of the law who holds the balance,
whose blessings fall on the just and the true.
Daughter of deep earth and stellary sky,
mother of the ancient Fates who grant to each their share,
mother too of the Seasons who give the stars their course,
merciful Themis, kind of heart and even of hand,

that lends its light to each precious gem.

mistress of the bright blue heavens,

I pray to you for clarity, for wisdom
and for insight, teach me to scry
and read what is hidden, help me to know
true vision from false. I call to you,

daughter of earth and star-strewn sky,
companion of bountiful Oceanos,
mother of sea nymphs and river gods.
Gentle goddess, nourisher of the young,
help of the helpless, friend of the caregiver
and the nurse, guide of those lost at sea,
teacher and counsel of unsurpassed Hera,
Tethys, mistress of the tides, mistress
of the waterflow, I call to you.

great and mighty among the immortal gods.

who eases our sorrows, our troubles, our pains,
O lady of the lions, enthroned in glory,
